Naahar Industrial Equipments Co. Ltd. (NIECO) successfully organized a Technical Seminar on April 22, 2025, featuring the participation of NANJING SCIYON WISDOM TECHNOLOGY GROUP CO., LTD., China—an internationally recognized leader in industrial automation and advanced control technologies. The seminar was arranged to introduce state-of-the-art control solutions for power generation and fertilizer production facilities across Bangladesh.

The event gained significant importance with the presence of high-level government and industry officials. The program was honored by Chief Guest Engr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB). Among the Special Guests were Engr. Md. Zahurul Islam, Member (Generation), BPDB; Muhammad Abdur Razzak, Director (Finance), T&E (Addl. Charge), Joint Secretary, BCIC; Md. Mokdum (designation to be confirmed); Engr. Muhammad Jahangir Alam, Chief Engineer (Generation), BPDB; and the Chief Engineer (MTS), BCIC, Dhaka.

SCIYON, known for its excellence in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Digital Electro-Hydraulic (DEH) solutions, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and a broad range of cutting-edge automation technologies, shared their expertise and experience. With successful applications across Asia, SCIYON highlighted how integrated digital systems enhance plant reliability, operational efficiency, and overall performance.

More than 70 engineers from various BPDB and BCIC plants participated in the seminar. Each facility delegated engineers from Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) departments, ensuring strong technical participation and practical discussions.

Representatives attended from major BPDB power plants, including Fenchuganj Combined Cycle Power Plant; Barapukuria Coal Power Plant (Units 1, 2 & 3); Shahjibazar 330 & 100 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant; Chattogram Power Station; Sylhet 225 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant; Ghorashal Power Plant (Units 4 & 7); Gopalganj 100 MW Peaking Power Plant; Khulna 225 MW Power Plant; Barishal Gas Turbine Power Plant; Chandpur 150 MW Power Plant; Bhola 225 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant; Karnaphuli Hydro Power Plant; Shikalbaha 225 MW Power Plant; and Bibiana 3 400 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant.

Engineers from leading BCIC fertilizer plants were also present, including Ghorashal Palash Urea Fertilizer Public Limited Company; Shahjalal Fertilizer Company Ltd.; Chittagong Urea Fertilizer Factory Ltd. (CUFL); Jamuna Fertilizer Company Ltd.; Ashuganj Fertilizer & Chemical Company Ltd.; TSP Complex Ltd.; and DAP Fertilizer Company Ltd.

Key highlights of the seminar included live demonstrations of SCIYON’s latest DCS and DEH systems, detailed sessions on upgrading legacy platforms to modern intelligent controls, global case studies, technical consultations, and open Q&A discussions. The event also created an effective networking platform for engineers, decision-makers, and automation specialists.
